Le Marais… – Paris

… or also called the Jewish quarter of Paris is definitely my most favourite “Place to be” in Paris.

Needless to say that it has the same beautiful architecture as the rest of Paris, but it also has the coolest and trendiest shops, cafés and restaurants of the whole city.

I guess it is just the fact that every corner is so different and there are so many exciting things to discover that has always dragged me back to this quarter. You can spend many days there without ever getting bored.

The perfect day in the quarter “Le Marais (3e Arrdt)” would have to start in the “Boot-Café” – “19 Rue du Pont aux Choux, 75003 Paris”. If you are not that of a morning person and a coffe is enough for you, this is the perfect café to go to. But you can easily try one of their delicious pastry as well. Their fresh Citronade is also really tasty and so refreshing on a hot Summer or Autumn day.

After refilling your energy system you can make your way down all the shopping streets like the “Rue Vieille du Temple” to the “Rue des Rosiers” which belongs to the Jewish population of Paris.

And to all the fashion lovers out there, I can assure you, that you won’t go to bed without at least one bag of shopping goods that day.

Depending on your appetite you can eighter try one to the Fallafel shops down the “Rue des Rosiers”, the Jewish pastry shop called “Traiteur Boulangerie” located in the “24 Rue des Ecouffes, 75004 Paris”, the restaurant “Les Philosphes” for some appetisers in the “28 Rue Vieille du Temple, 75004 Paris ” or also the vegan café and restaurant “Wild & the Moon” – “55 Rue Charlot, 75003 Paris”.

For the late afternoon the sunny terrace of the “Le Voltigeur” – “5 Rue des Hospitalières Saint-Gervais”- is the perfect place to herald a relaxing evening with friends with one or another glass of wine.

I have to say, that I haven’t found the best restaurant for dinner yet in “Le Marais”, but I am sure I will do the next time I will be staying in  Paris as the magic of this quarter just doesn’t seem to want to let me go.

So until then, I would love to hear about your discoveries in the “3e Arrdt” and I will make sure to let you know what I think about them when I try them out 😉 .
